    Has anyone used this stuff?
    FishGravel.com Sea Floor

I use the caribsea special reef floor grade aragonite. It sure looks like this stuff is the same as the caribsea stuff.

I have an opportunity to buying a couple bags from a guy loccally. I need sand for my tank, so this would be perfect if it is what I am thinking it is for my 193g I am setting up this week.

You can see if it's real aragonite by putting some into some white vinegar.....it will fizz and start dissolving. That doesn't matter as much to me as the shape and size of the grains and you would pretty much need to see it to see if they are small enough to not trap detritus.

I will buy a bag of the carib sea since I need more than he is selling, and take it out when I go to look at the sand for sale.

If it looks the same, I will buy it as it will save me at least 20 bucks over all caribsea.

The seller got back to me and said it is a little finer than the carib sea stuff. I will still bring a bit of the carib sea stuff out to compare it. Adding one 40# bag of the carib sea to the 60lbs of this will get me about an inch of sand, not including ay sand I transfer over from my 90g.

I bought the 3 bags that were for sale locally, and i will mix it with the 40lb new bag of carib sea seaflor special grade and the special grade reeflor that I take from my running 90g to seed it.

It is 100% aragonite, and finer than the caribsea long name stuff I am currently using. I think I will like the look of this new special mix.

The guy I got it from had 60 lbs left over from his 210g 7 footer build.

I put all the sand in my 200g today. I like it a lot. It is pretty fine, the dowell seafoor stuff, but mixed with the caribsea special reeflor, it is really nice.
