I'm new here but not new to the hobby. I have a question though so here it goes i have a 300 gallon tank and my return pump is a sequence 1000 the main seal has went out on it today and no one but an online supplier has the part so this is my question not having a back up and not being able to get a new set of seals for at least two days can i just let my power head put micro bubbles into the tank as a means of oxygenating the water. by this i mean turn the dial on the top of my power head letting it suck in air and making micro bubbles there fore putting oxygen in the water. i have a few expensive fish and would not like to lose any one.

If you have corals, microbubbles can cause a problem, depending on the type. Getting a bunch of surface disturbance, and being careful about the air bubbles would work best.

I think a better choice would be to point a powerhead at the surface to cause some good aggitation. It's easier to do IMO, then what you were planning.

i have just two corals a toad stool and a brain coral and a 15 inch carpet. i have a small amount of bubbles on the opposite of the carpet i only worry because i have a 9 inch pink tail trigger that was hand picked in California for me. Also have a 12 inch shark that i am very proud of.

no need for all 6, one or two will do the trick, my tank has been like this for 2 weeks now with no loses, and I have a bunch of corals.
