Well I've had my dracula goby for a few months now, and he paired up with a pistol marvelously. When i was at the store the other day they were having the draculas on sale for 70 bucks each i figured id add another and see what happens. Well the 2nd goby has joined the other and the shrimp and the three of them hang out in their burrow together, its been a few days now and no drama so far.

But what i have noticed is how different these two gobies are. They have same body shape and fin shape. But their colors are strikingly different. My first Dracula has wide black bars with thin blood red strips in between with a more unique black swirl on his top fin.

The new Dracula i added has wide blood red bars and thin blood red bars in between. His black marking on his top fin is different.

Are these differences related to sex at all? or where they came from or any other info about their different coloration's or just every fish i s unique?

note first two pics are not of my goby, i didnt have a good clear shot of him at the moment. last three are of my new one.

Not sure if it's just the pics or what but the first looks a little healthier. More vibrant. But otherwise looks pretty much the same. Can't really see the fins on the second to be positive :)

hey it is the image quality. the first two pics are from google search so they are most likely touched up from live aquaria or something showing perfect picture and specimen. The pics from mine are taken with very little light in a tiny space. Note my goby is apprx 1" long.

The black marking on the fins isnt very different. I was more interested in the different colors the wide bars appear on them. the first pics are black and red, where mine is a much redder color i find. When i searched on google for them i got a similiar result. Some pics showed draculas with black and red and others pics made it look like mine. SO I was curious if this meant whether they were male, female, where they were from.

Gobies can be difficult to sex and especially hard doing it by color since color of gobies has alot to do with age, tank decor, place of origin and of course water chemistry.
