Oh, you could try and buy some macro algae that has a lot of pods already in it or even possibly some LR from an established system already. That is what I did, and my scooter blenny is doing great, and I always see pods in the corner where I have my macro algae.

It doesn't. You must buy live sand, or seed your sand with a cup or two of sand from an established live sand bed. The way to increase the amount of infauna is to not add sand-sifters. :)

Ok, I just thought they might repopulate on their own like pods. This is what we are talking about right:

Infauna - Benthic animals that live in the substrate of a body of water, especially in a soft sea bottom. Infauna usually construct tubes or burrows and are commonly found in deeper and subtidal waters. Clams, tubeworms, and burrowing crabs are infaunal animals.

    Yes, exactly.

They will reproduce and maintain population, as long as you don't have a sand-sifter in a tank too small to support it. Pods are basically the same way- if your tank is too small for, say, a mandarin dragonette, it will deplete your pod population.

Whoops sorry about that! I've heard it both ways and I guess I sort of thought both were correct. Can I see a pic of yours? I've tried to search it up but only get dragonettes a results
