    The red sea wavemaker isn't compatible with any of these powerheads. Vortech's don't need a wavemaker as they have one built in.

    I have not used a Koralia before. What would be a good recommendation for size and quantity in this tank? I see they have 3250 gph available. Not knowing the way they fan the output would this blow my sand away? Two #8's too much or would 2-3 smaller ones be better?

    Tank is (inside dim): 26" tall x 71" wide. Will have 3"-4" of sand

    Might be OK if you set them up to make a barrel roll of water. Aim the parallel to each other from opposite ends of your tank. I have two nanos, 240 GPH, on a 24 inch long tank aimed parallel across the top over my rock and they do not disturb a grain of sand. They have a pretty wide fan. You probably should be able to keep your hand right in front of them with little trouble.

    I would do a couple smaller ones versus 1 mega one any day. The K5's and up are pretty honking big.
