Sorry but in kinda new to owning a ro unit. After using the ro unit do any of you drain the water currently in the system? or do you just leave it. I have a Coralife 50gpd unit if that helps.
Should i add a DI unit to it for a reef aquarium?

    No, just leave it.
Adding a DI unit is a great idea for a reef.

Leave it, you never want the RO membrane to get dry. DI is necessary for an algae-free reef IMO.

sorry but coralife is terrible for the ro units. I had one got it tested and it was giving me 100 tds reading, also i tried to buy that di unit. It could not be added to the 24 gpd system, mayb the 50 but i doubt it. Buy a tds meter and test your water. I had bad experience with that brand.

Always leave water in the system when its not in use and try to use it at least every 7 to 10 days to keep it fresh. Store it in a climate controlled area like a closet out of direct lighting and temperature extremes.

I agree on the DI add-on. I have on my RO system. Also AZDesertRat is the water expert here.
