I have one that is growing pretty big. I am keeping an eye on it. Once it starts to multiply, I am yanking every aiptasia I can find out of my tank. Until then, I am going to live on the edge.

Don't yank! Nuke 'em! Get some Aiptasia-X or some Lemon Juice and a syringe! If you pull on them they will go sexual and be all over your tank! AND trust me, if your rock is porous...if you see one, there are some you don't see. I took my LR out of my tank, turned it upside down in a rubbermaid container and took Aiptasia-X to at least 6 of them, I only ever saw one tentacle.

All right, all right.........I'll get rid of them. Thanks!!! And no yanking. Aiphasia-X huh. What if I have a coral attached to the rock?

Edit: Ohhhh. It's a local procedure, not a total rock dip. OK, I get it. Easy.

Won't hurt your corals! Just leave the PHs off for the full 15 minutes or more.

You can change over your rock or nuke your existing rock and start fresh.
HOWEVER, it only takes one purchase, like a coral with skeleton, to possibly start your tank on a path of aptaisia or some other nuisance life form, so you can end up right back where you started.
Personally, I put a copperband in one tank and eradicated the remaining tanks of aptaisia using hydrochloric acid in a hypodermic needle, after having tried vinegar, and trying kalk slurry.
I had a plethora of aptaisia so I just killed them off in stages to keep the tank from being stressed by the kalk slurry or the vinegar or HCL.
(I also use this HCL and hypo needle to eradicate nuisance mushroom anemones)
Now, if I could only solve the problem of several nuisance macro algae and of bubble algae, I would be a lot happier.

First picture is of a sponge. That being said, aiptasia I wouldn't worry about but bryopsis is a real threat. I would definitely nuke the rock if it's an option.

Well, I have the bryopsis under control for the time being. What is still there is dying, which is from the light, but I believe also because I installed a phosphate reactor. One rock got hit the hardest, making me think that it was the origin, so at the very least, I want to nuke that rock (luckily it doesn't have anything I'd want to keep on it).

When bryopsis dies, does it lose it's toxicity? Like, would snails eat dead bryopsis?
