    So weird... and unfortunate, this was one of my first fish, had him for a year and a half..just yesterday i fed him live feeder shrimp wanted to treat him before i left for cancun... and woke up this morning with three hermits fiesting on him, thats my second fish death this week.. RIP

    well theres no way to tell there actually age wild cuaght specimens. even a small one could be old from lack of nutrition.

    what were you feeding him mainly(bulk of his diet)? hopefully not live food right?

    live food can contain parasites. and depending upon what it is, it can be very low in nutrition.

    certain feeder(goldfish) cause intestional blockage.

    If the majority of diet is frozen i would recommend a good vitamin dip

    mainly...chopped squid, never really payed attention to nutrition..
