dress suit

I'm doing a mock interview tomorrow for school. Anyways, I have trouble selecting a tie. I'm thinking black suit, white shirt, black tie.

I'd say kaki's, a button up (no tie) and a sports coat. like you see them wearing on the news. where they do interviews

unless you're mock interviewing someone important. like a president of something or king of somewhere. then a suit or potato sack as appropriate :laughings

 

I'm getting interviewed by my principal of the school or the superintendent of the district.

 

that's kind of the president of something right... I'd probably go with a colored shirt and if you can a grey or blue coat instead of all black so you look less like you're trying and more like you just are.

Is this like you're interviewing for a job? If yes, go with what you said in your first post. Never wear khakis to a job interview and always wear a tie. Dressing casual for a job interview is never good.

I wouldn't do the black tie, basically, if you have a white shirt, any colored tie and pattern will work. If a darker suit, navy, black then I prefer anywhere from pink/green or orange. If a light blue shirt, a pink tie looks nice. Basically, a white shirt, dark suit, you can't go wrong with a tie.
