I forgot to take the center possibly being weaker into account and you got me thinking I may want to move my holes, if they haven't been drilled yet, as of yesterday they still weren't (the tank at the shop still).

I'm doing 3 holes for 1" bulkheads 5" apart & I do have an extra 3" wide glass band just above the holes and it's eurobraced along the long edge with a 1" wide piece of glass & with a 2.5" piece along the short sides (all this extra bracing just made me think I'd be OK), do you think I'll have problems?
Oh and the tank is a little over 49" long and the holes are centered on the tank.

You shouldn't have an issue, but it would be a little stronger if the holes were not centered.

Now, if you had those holes about 3/4 of the way down in the tank and centered, you might have issues.

The holes are just below the glass band...only enough away to get the bulkhead on.

    So I should be fine...whew...

When you do a drilled overflow setup just don't forget to strap the pipes down so they can't flex.
