has anyone drilled a 10 gallon tank, the glass is 1/8" thick and im wondering if it can be done with such thin glass, im using a 1 3/8" glass bit to do this for a standard 1" male threaded PVC fitting then it will screw into a 1" female fitting, what do you all think? thanks for your replys

I was able to do it, I did break 1 tank in the process and practiced drilling more holes in it. On the second tank I was successful. Just take your time.

I have drilled a 10g. Just make sure you don't put any pressure on the bulkhead and you will be fine.

Yep, I did here, but it was a 20G. Just let the bit do all the work, don't press into the glass with the drill or it will crack it. It should take you about 5-10mins to go through. Make sure you take small breaks to let the bit cool down, as well as using water to cool the bit and glass. Caution: the water does get hot too, if you use the dam method of watering the drilling. I would also recommend putting gaffers tape on the inside of the tank, so the hole doesn't blow right though when the cut is complete. Just finger tighten the bulkhead, don't torque it too much or the glass will crack. Good luck and be safe with that.
