I have a lead on a 106 gallon tank and they guy says the glass is an inch thick...I have yet to see the tank but saying that he's right or that maybe it's somewhere between 1/2' & 1" in thickness, can it still be drilled? Just kinda need to know soon so I can get it or pass on it.

The tank looks nice is & doesn't have a center brace (hence the thicker glass I'm guessing)
    Dimensions are 60.5l x 22w x 18.5h

sounds like a custom job and a good chance the glass is tempered. does sound like a really nice tank though :)

thicker glass is easier to drill and is still the same process as any other thickness, ive drilled 2mm up to 16mm same technique. the thicker the glass the more forgiving it is so if its not tempered then drill away

    Good Idea

    That's good to know.
I don't think it's tempered I'm doing the back wall for a coast to coast internal overflow box. To utilize the whole 5 ft. width for surface skimming.;D

You'll like that. Your dissolved Oxygen will stay high and you'll never worry about pH levels as these work great at offgassing CO2
