ive been using the BRS Recipe 1 (Alkalinity Solution) Soda Ash to raise my alkalinity. Ive only want to raise it about 1dkh in a 24 hour period. Ive been using a fish acclimation drip line to dose it into my tank. My question is, how long should it take to dose 25ml or 0.08oz into a 40 gal system? Or how long between drips? Ive been doing about one drop per 4 seconds?

good question, i have no idea.. i would think 1 drop ever 4 seconds should be fine. recheck dkh levels 24hrs later and adjust next dose.. if no one else can help maybe try emailing BRS.?

You could dilute the mixture into your freshwater top off.

FWIW, I dump in about 50 mils at a time on my 120 gallon into a high flow area of the sump and have never had a problem.

I have a doser set to add alk every 2 hours.

At that amount you could simply slowly pour it in a high flow area of the sump.

You are looking at a little over 1ml per hour which is 3600 seconds. You probably need to be at 1 drop every couple of minutes.
