Possibly if you choose. Or you could go the 2-part Dosing pump way. I've been drip Dosing Kalk for the last month and it's really helped to stabilize things. When it can't keep up with coral demand I may use vinegar along with it to increase saturation or I'll just do 2-part again.

That sounds like a good alternative to kalk or calc reactors. I think I've seen set ups with 2 part dripped through pumps.

I didn't even think about dosing 2 part with pumps till I read this thread. I'm going to try dripping kalk for now. I'll also check out some 2 part dosing set ups.

I started the drip today at about 5 sec intervals. The Kalkwasser is 1 gallon distilled water + 1 tsp. of Kalk.

Cool. That's about my drip rate as well. Good idea to start light at 1tsp. To the gallon as opposed to a fully saturated solution at two. Keep this updated.

Do you know what your Ca,KH and PH were before the drip dose. It'll be interesting to see changes after a week.

with #'s like that why would you even want to drip kalk?

i do it for ph. one of the workers at the local fish store told me the liquid calcium would do what the kalk was doing, it would keep my ph up.....WRONG! i tried it my ph is back down. and now i have to head back there for kalk. which i had in my hands. uuuurrrggghhh

he said the liquid calcium was safer and less mess. guess he didnt know it doesnt seem to effect ph

I've been dosing liquid calcium daily to maintain calcium. Also adding superbuffer-dkh when needed to maintain alkalinity.
