Dripping Kalk for the first time

    That's quite a drop in PH from your before. Didn't think Kalk would drop it:confused:

    Never heard of calcium single handedly being responsible for maintaining PH...you've been had!

    I didn't think it would either. After looking at the numbers I'm more confused.

    It could just be a misreading. I have a hard time telling the color difference on this API ph test kit. The color seems to be the same as it was when the lights came on this morning though. I would have expected a rise during the day if the ph was swinging up and down.

    Everything in the tank appears to be healthy. The ph seems to be at the same color it was at yesterday.

    This was bugging me so I got another test kit. This kit says 8.0 and is much easier to read. I also got a mag test kit and the mag level is 1200.

    Marine Enterprises International ph test kit and Sera Mag test kit.
