I have a Motorola droid 2 that has updates almost every single day. It gets very annoying after a while. So, while I was busy during my last week of classes, I didn't install any of the updates. Now, my phone will randomly close programs and does stupid stuff when I am trying to text.

Can someone tell me how to get to the part in my phone where I can install the necessary updates?

Rooting solves 95% of all issues with android based smartphone.

Rooting does void your warranty. If you do not take your time, you can brick your phone. Most of the time it is a soft brock which is easily fixable. However, truely bricking your phone normally happens when unrooting your phone to receive a warranty repair/replacement.

You will have to flash radio updates one your own as well. this is very easy and simply.
