Dry base rock question

    and assuming I understand correctly, a whether a cycle happens or not is determined by whether or not the dry rock has any organic matter on it. With matter means a probably mini cycle, clean means no cycle.

    i have some eco rock from bulkreefsupply and have not put it in my tank yet b/c i want to remain FO..i have a 35gal bowfront that i'm pondering pu tting it in to start up a new tank. 20lbs of the rock. i should probably cure it before.

    Just beware of unwanted hitchhikers. I added 25# of Marco Key Largo rocks to my reef, and 50# to the FOWLR. The rocks only needed a light rinse. No issues.

    That's my biggest concern. I don't know. I actually stopped by the guy's place that sells marcorocks locally here (I grabbed some of the sand), and the rocks actually look very nice. So I'm back to considering them again. lol. Like I've said before, my fish will be safe in my current tank until I'm sure all is good to go.
