If I put some LR around this do you think it is ok to use in my tank? It's very open and detritus settles into it but I want to grow lots of pods so hopefully they can thrive in there. Do you have any suggestions as to placement etc?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Are those large dead skeletons of pipe organ corals?

I would choose larger pieces of regular LR rubble. If that is pipe organ it will trap too much detritus for a display IMO.

That's exactly what it is and it does trap a lot of detritus, unfortunately.

Other than the fact that it collect crap on it, i would think it would be fine. I have some rock in my tank that has almost as many holes in it I am pretty sure its called Tuff rock.

All I do is blast it off just before I do a water change with a hose and pump. When I do it my SPS and Acans go crazy feeding on some of what gets mixed into the water.
