Just looking at my dry rock from macro compared to the few lbs of LR I have and wondering. How long is that pure white rock going to take to actually look aged and "live" ?
I'm concerned it may be YEARS!?

don't worry about it. get someone in your area to send some scrapings of coraline algae your way. In a couple of months it will be growing everywhere. It will actually be live sooner it just wont have purple coraline and sponges etc.

I'd say Newreef15 was spot on...the bleached rocks are not covered in coraline or anything but there not bleach white any more.
