With the cost associated with the start up and stocking, anything to save $$ is a win for us. Just realized from reading another post that I have no clue about setting up the sump for my predrilled. It has the bulkhead installed. I just realized that they should come with a plumbing kit.

Does the height of the bulkhead determine when the sump will stop receiving water from the intake or do I need to plumb an overflow somehow?

yes, the standpipe that goes into the bulkhead will control the water level inside the tank - they can be noisy, research durso standpipes and hoffer gurgle busters for some ideas.

    dry rock in existing tank

Hi I have an existing tank roughly 2 years. All parameters are good. I just purchased dry rock from marcorocks and I am wondering if I should have any concerns about adding this to the tank. I have exisitng live rock that will seed just curious if this will potentially throw off my water?

I would just rinse it to get any dirt or dust off. That's about it. Nothing to worry about.
