    ding ding ding, winner. 160 square inches of surface will work nicely - I love my DSB in my refugium - the slow movement combined with the DSB is a winning combination.

    thanks Crimson except 20x4 is 80 square inches.I am going to do that though as soon as I can get the holes plugged up so it will fill with water

    If you have a cube I don't recommend a deep sand bed... that is in the main tank lol. Don't do it in a cube; I have only 2 inches and I'm assuming that it's so heavy and thats why my 29 gallon biocube is dripping; water goes through plastic areas. Either that or my tank is cracked lol; still unknown to me
