    Hello all,
I am new to this forum. In the process of upgrading my 24g nano cube deluxe to 40 gallon breeder. I wanted to double check if this size grain of sand would be suitable for a DSB in the sump of display before I dump a whole bunch of sand in. It is natures ocean live sand I just dont know what size.

    Thanks!

I use a DSB or RDSB in all fuges on all of my systems. I learned everything I know about them by reading everything I could find that was wrote by A. Calfo on the subject.

Here's something to get you started.
    DSB article - CALFO

I really like a layer of clay about 6" deep and covered with sugar fine aragonite in a 3" cap.

Water flow over the surface of the sand needs to be fast and there needs to be a good population of sand dwelling worms and other burrowing creatures for it to work properly.

Thank You. Just read the article very informative. Just wanted to get a second opinion if the sand is a good size because I have about 90 pounds of it from previous tanks and do not want to buy more
