I think anything with the word Aquarium attached to it is more expensive. LOL;D

Here's a picture of the setup. I know it's kinda blurry, but if I need a better picture for you guys, I can take another! I cut the pipe about 2 inches. I'll look into getting one of those pieces that you guys mentioned.

Get another cap to fit on top of the standpipe. Drill one hole in it just large enough for a piece of vinyl airline tubing to fit in it snugly. Cut several inches of tubing and slowly lower it down into the standpipe until flow takes off and the sound quiets. You can work with the insertion adjustment making minute changes up or down but it will make a huge difference in both flow and sound. Make sure to tie or tape the free end up so it does not fall in the tank.

Thanks for the advice. But how would the airline tubing change the amount of flow?

When you inject the air into the flow of water it gives it a smoother, laminar flow. You will be amazed but it really works well and not only makes it flow faster without gulping air or burping but it makes it almost silent too since it does no thave eddy currents or restrictions to flow.

Well the sound problem I'm having now is the water flowing down the grate into the overflow corner. Here are a few pics of my setup now.

Here's the durso after I cut it.

Also, I noticed that the more flow I had going to my skimmer, the higher the water level in my DT was. If I were to have it all go to my skimmer, my DT would overflow. For now, I have it about more or less equal for skimmer chamber and fuge, but with a bit more going towards the skimmer.
