Hey guys my maxi jet 1200 is taking a crap after about 4 months of use, I've cleaned my reactor and checked for clogs. I didn't find any and my pump just seems to keep slowing down. I use a brs dual reactor and need something NOT maxi jet to get better flow going again to help get my phosphates in check. any recommendations would be appreciated. Also thought about just doing away with the dual reactor and going with a reef octopus reactor instead.

The older Maxi-jets are the best bang for your buck. You should be able to buy a new impellor for it and it should be good as new.

I feel like 4 months isn't very long to be needing parts ?

Find the Cobalt MJ pump at brs. It's the old maxijet that gcarrol is talking about. Same italian company. I suggest a 900 though, for a brs dual media, so you don't have to throttle it back so far.

The older maxi-jets are now being produced by Cobalt and are called Cobalt MJ 600, 900 or 1200. Same awesome pump that maxi jet used to be. BRS sells them.

Edit...ooops I already gave this advice on this thread... looks like I am really bored and just posting all over the place...
