    But i can't find anything on the subject online so I thought i would pose the question... Will marbles hurt my saltwater fish or reef?

    But why not? I mean I totally believe you but now I'm curious. My fist tank is glass...

    I think hes saying glass would be fine. Anything else poses the risk of leaching various chemicals into the water. Say for example they are plastic that has been dyed to whatever color you choose, that may leach toxins into the water that nuke the tank.

    glass marbles wouldn't. but the real question is ... why would anyone want to put marbles into their reef tank???

    Different strokes for different folks. :)

    As already mentioned, glass marbles will not hurt your tank.

    +1 However I would see them catching alot of detritus in between them.Also if you are planning on sand underneath they may compact it too much. Not a good idea IMO.:(

    +1 on glass marbles being harmless in a reef tank

    The only scenario I can imagine them harming the fish
    would be a particularly nasty game of Ker Plunk

    Ultra-modern reef substrate. Glass marbles were sand at one point ;)
