I don't know which subgroup this goes in.... I just purchased a green duncan as I got a great deal on the frag. I thought it needed medium light and medium waterflow. But different websites have said it will only live in really strong flows.

I was confirming whether or not it needed calcium. I does. I put it near a power head without the flow pointed at it in the middle of a taller rock. My setup is a 4x65 t5HO.

It will do OK in medium light, medium flow. Mine is in low flow and it has gotten so big that I have to move it because my large frogspawns are stinging it.

I can move it. It has free range in the tank.

My experience with them is either high flow or medium flow is fine. It will effect how the tentacles grow. In a higher flow environment they will develop longer tentacles and if in a lower flow the will be shorter. If acclimated properly they can take whatever light you though at them, I had them about 8 inches from the top of my 75g under 250W MH.

Also are you sure you mean t5HO? I dont think they make that wattage, it sounds like Power compacts to me.

The sub-category would have been LPS but both work!

You are correct they are 54's. I thought they were lps because they require feeding and calcium. I fed it today I tried dropping some flakes on it and it closed up before I took a shower this morning. When I got back the polyps were open again.
