Well I have a Duncan with 7 heads on it, I woke up this Morning to find it under my elegance coral, the big head looks toast as well as some other heads. Looks like he has brown jelly disease. Just curious what I should do here, should I leave him in the tank or toss him out (if he has brown jelly disease) I'm not sure if he has brown jelly disease if it could spread or not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

LPS corals when expelling the contents of their inside, also exude a brown substance, and contact with the elegance may have caused it to do so, so it is not definitely brown jelly at this stage

If your not running any carbon, now would be a good time to do so or change any carbon that you are using

I would monitor the coral for a few days, as heads that have just pooped themselves in reaction to the ordeal, may surprise you by inflating again ( I have had a few accidents with corals meeting other corals that was not planned, I think most of us have at one time or another)

in a few days any heads that are definitely goners could be fragged off , many do this for aesthetic reasons in that it only leaves the healthy live coral heads on display in the aquarium

Sounds good thanks, I got the coral out of the tank and did a closer look at it, 4 heads are dead gone, nothing but skeletons, 3 look to still have some flesh left so I did a coral dip and we will see what happens from tonight on, I hope I can save at least 1 head and it should grown back from there... If not then I guess I'll be going Duncan shopping.

Not sure, I dont have any frags glued down. The plugs are just shoved into the rocks, I'm assuming a fish or crab did it, I have a HUGE blue leg herm in there I'm trying to get out, he causes havoc in my tank, he is gone as soon as I catch him. Other the. That in thinking my hippo tang, I've been watching him nip at my hydropora, birdsnest and some
Zoos. If I could catch him he would find a new home.
