Yes you can still use WMP if your delete your duplicates with iTunes. Everything should still be in .mp3 format, so no issues.

Good Luck, I find this to be very tedious and time consuming. I did it while I was in Iraq and still hated doing it lol.

on windows atleast in itunes, File > Display Duplicates.

As for it playing nice with other players, you'll probably want to uncheck the "keep my music folder organized" option within itunes, as that will move all your music and organize it separately than how you currently have it organized. This could mess up however you have it reading in other music playeres.

I own nothing with an "i", but I do use itunes. I have a droid and can sync it just fine. I buy my music from Amazon, and itunes is a much better organizer than WMP. But regardless, itunes will not change how you use WMP.

I just got a lot of music, and I used itunes to delete all my duplicates... but be carefull with that. I was not really paying attention... I was looking at bit rates, but if they were the same just started clicking away... well if you have a CD you ripped, then picked up a song off some cheezy K-Tel greatest hits... well now you have an incomplete CD and a bunch of cheezy greatest hits listed in the "album" veiw. Get what I mean? I mean ya you have the song, but a much more coplicated library. Especially if later you want that song... but can't find it under that artist or album.
