With the tank I got it came with the plumbing overflow and return kit. The stand pipe provided is 1.5" with the return being 3/4". The bulkheads are 1". My question is, I have heard that a large stand pipe into a smaller bulkhead will be rather noisy. Should I remake the standpipe to reflect 1" because from the bulkhead to the sump I was going to plumb with 1" also. The 3/4" for return lines I planned to keep 3/4 from return pump all the way up to the returns in the tank.

On the stats I have a perfecto 65G corner overflow with the overflow reported as 700gph flowing into a custom 20G sump

I have to say you guys have been very helpful so far. Thanks a ton!

It really doesn't matter, the return pump will determine the flow rate so either should be large enough for a 65G display. If you are considering a different standpipe you might look at the Stockman version of the Durso, it is more compact and much quieter, especially if you stick a piece of airline tubig down in the drilled hole in the cap to maximize the air/water ratio.
