There are THESE, but we use the cheapie green or blue valves that you can buy at pretty much any LFS or pet store that carries fish:

BTW, "dirty" airline shows up better in photos, so we used that instead of a new piece...

I got an air valve lastnight and it didnt allow enough air in and just keep getting the toilet bowl flush. Had to dial back the sump which is a big bummer. Might upgrade to 1 1/4 inch pipe to see if that helps....

Have you tried a REVERSE DURSO on the end going into the sump?

When I had my sump in my stand, the flow was so great, lots of noise etc.

google 'reverse durso', read a few threads, and easily build one out of PVC.

FWIW- many of the suggestions you have here will also work.

When it was in my stand (now the basement), I built a reverse durso, that emptied into a filter bag/sock. Helped immensely!

Still no luck getting my system dialed in....Either it is really loud or it does the flush every minute or so once the overflow fills up so much. I cant find a happy medium no matter the hole size or how much I dial my pump back. Getting very frustrated with this thing.

you want to have baffles before your skim. And when the sump recieves that water put some kinda filter or have to drain pipe go directly in the water.. I set up a syphon for mine so ****s critical ounce it starts it dont stop.. Im a plumber so I safety rigged everything from union ball valves on every piece of equipment to backflows and a gauge that shows my GPH. Mywife would kill me with wet floors... Good luck tell me if it helps

BALL VALVES SON!!! never have too many I got 7 on mine and their union ballvalves.. Helps to be a plumber.. def do an indirect route that will take alot of the pressure off.. remember every 90 you lose a 1ft of head. BYPASS on the return like he said.. really helps I did the same on my sterilizer on the return

Have you put multiple holes in the cap, or are you trying to run with just one? On some of our setups, there are 3 holes...

Also, what size is your drain bulkhead? If it's 1", you should be using 1 1/4" pipe for the body and have it reduce to 1" at the bulkhead. They work better that way.

    Muscle,

I too, and a huge fan of TU ball valves...wouldn't build a system without them!

I do have a valve on my return and 2 on my drain, one to regulate the fuge and another for the skimmer section. I tried multiple holes and one single hole and nothing seemed to let me run my pump full throttle. I do have a 1" bulkhead on the drain and using the 1 1/4" pipe is what I have been thinking about the last couple of days. What if I get rid of the solid pipe and put something flexable?

maybe get another pump for your drain that way both the return and the drain are full blast.. im on ssyhpon so I had to dial down my pump a little but try that.. the holes arent your problem its your over flow.. the overflow is the loudest.. make sure the beginning of the drain is under water then it doesnt suck..
