Durso Standpipe help!!

    I no longer have a tank, not even sure why I'm here, I guess I can't stay away from this stuff:)....if you have your durso air intake wide open you're getting too much air which would explain the excess bubbles in your sump, the water height in your overflow box is probably high too. In my experience, the best way to solve this is to put a valve on the air intake that can be used to adjust the air flow. If you close it too much you'll get that gurgling sound, if you open it too much you'll get too much bubbles in the sump....just play around with it until you get your desired setting.

    So I upgraded my drain from 1" to 1.25" and that made a world of difference. Not so many bubbles in the sump and it pulls so much more water. I made the stand to short though and now have a waterfall into the overflow so ill have to work on that during my next water change. Also put a filter sock in the sump and its pulling out all the small particles pretty good. Thanks everyone for your input!!
