since last friday it seems that my tank has been taken over by green dust algae all over my glass...its annoying. i know that using the magent scruber will just dispurse them into your water, so is there actually any way to get rid of green dust algae?

other than skimming, light feeding, and water changes, not really anything to do. get alot of snails to help control it. all tanks i have seen including mine require mag floating every few days as algae likes to grow on the glass. i think it is good when you let it grow a bit then clean it off. food for filter feeders.

That is phytoplankton and IME skiers suggestions are the best you can do. It is good stuff to have because it feeds zooplankton and that feeds corals.
