I have a coral beauty dwarf angel. She has been in a mixed reef for about 6 months now. So far, I have not seen her doing any nipping. There are several dwarf angels that are considered "reef safe - with caution". However, I have had issues with some other fish that were considered reef safe. A simple fish trap and some patience can take care of the problem. I have a very, very good LFS that is willing to take something back for credit if a fish starts eating coral.

IMO, there are some fish that are worth giving a chance (dwarf angels are worth it to me). I always say they are on probation until I feel safe.....and even then, it is something that I will always keep my eye on and if there starts to be problems....well, back to the store he goes....

I have heard quite a few stories of success with coral beauties. Glad your lil' guy is being nice! :) Dwarf angels are my some of my favorite fish, so there really is no way that I'm not having one. When I bought my new tank I had angels in mind!

    Thank you bluemoon!!

You are very welcome. Actually, the coral beauty is the reason I got into saltwater to begin with....I saw one and knew I had to have it. I am currently planning a 70 gal FOWLR, just in case the angel decides to start nipping, I will have a place to put it!

Be very observant though....they can turn from angels to demons very quickly......;D

Ohhh...good thinking!! :) Lol Unfortunately I cannot have another tank, so if it starts nipping I'll just have to find a way to deal.

Flame angel is the reason I got into saltwater....but now I don't like them as much as I used to!! Lol Now that I have more knowledge there are other angels I like more.

Both of those are really pretty. I really like how bright the lemon peel is. Plus, it's face is so cute. I'm really thinking about trying on of those. I'm still going to do a lot more research though.

i think that the potters angels are the least inclined to nip at your corals. they also look different dependgin on how you look at them (position) so they are very cool.

Yeah, I think those are absolutely gorgeous fish!! I think I read somewhere that they are harder to care for, which scared me off a bit.
