so am going to be setting up a tank that is going to be a coral tank with just these 2 guys in it. Anything i should know about them? Eels like to escape i got that. And lions can sting you. and they are both messy.

So anything else? can i have a bare bottom tank with the eel? will the eel knock over my corals?

Yes. I think you will find an Eel overall to be a PITA. They do knock things over and are generally not good for a reef tank.:(

Ours Snowflake eel went roge after awhile. Ate tankmates and was then banished to a species only tank.... then he chewed on my husband a couple of times. When they grow up they are mean and hungry. Nobody wanted him when he was too big too handle. He died in a GFCI accident at the age of 15..... alone, 'cause he ate all his friends.

i have a 75 gal that i was thinking of putting the lion in. and moving some of the non compatable inhabitants to my 40B.

Would remove the 2 clowns, 2 dragonets, scooter blennie, and hermits/snails.

he would be in the 75 with a yellow eye kole tang, 2 dwarf angels, lyretail anthias, and a diamond goby.

only concern would be the diamond goby haha

Sorry, I fixed that. The eel.

Watch the angels. Diamond gobies get large as adults. You just need to cross your fingers until then.... or get a small-ish lion. It's why I have so many personal tanks at the moment. I'm waiting for fish to grow up!

The angels may pick. Lions can have very flowy (is that a word?) fins.
