i have never heard of a snowflake biting a persons hand out of the tank before. it must have been that particular one. i have had 3 different snowflakes, 2 of them even when hungry wouldnt come near me and the other was much more aggressive, he caught a large niger trigger (6-7 inches long) in a cave in the rockwork and ate the entire thing. i dont think he has to worry about the eel being aggressive towards a lion though.

He had a thing for wiggling fingers as they resemble silversides. They can't see very well. Ours may have been overly aggressive, but one of yours still took down and ate a niger. He doesn't have to worry about aggression, with a dwarf lion he has to worry about it becoming lunch!

ok so here is my plan. I have a 75 gal display tank that i am going to plump my 40B into. I am going to remove all the small fish and hermits and snails to the 40B coral tank. And add the DWARF lion to the 75gal. His tank mates will be
    :yellow eye kole tang
    flame angel
    coral beauty
    Lyretail anthias
    diamond goby

    40B will have
    1 male mandaring dragonet
    1 female green dragonet
    1 red male scooter blenny
    hermits
    snails

    so 75+40+25gal sump= 140gal total water volume.

Filtration SWC 160 protein skimmer, carbon, refugium with chaeto.

Any thoughts? No eel for me.

Get everything big enough so it cannot be eaten. I can't speak to the rest of them getting along.

Three Dragonets will not survive in a 40 gallon tank for very long unless you plan on buying pods every week.:(Supplemental feedings if they will accept it will help but IMO this will require a ton of work and money.

Well it is going to be plumed into the sump that has the refugium that i stock with pods. I believe they reproduce down there. And the scooter blennie eats frozen.

You will not be able to keep a pod population big enough for three (even if the Scooter is eating frozen it will still hunt pods in the tank) unless you plan on dosing Phyto plankton. The population of copepods in a reef system is often food limited by the amount of natural microalgae that the reef system produces each day.(Meaning bigger systems are better at keeping adequate populations of pods without polluting the tank further with added microalgaes)) If you supplement with microalgae you increase the amount of available food, and hence the population that can be supported. When additional pods are added the amount of food required immediately goes up. Unfortunately many people don't add additional microalgae so the existing copepod population end up with a food shortage and quickly starve. This can be done but does pollute the tank so nutrient export will have to increase. It can be done but IMO not a good idea.

so even with a refugium that is about 1ftx1ft full of chaeto would not be able to sustain enough pods for the 3?
