I've never owned a 6700k bulb so I'm not sure what that colour will be like.

I have regular PC, halides, LEDs and T5s... all of them grow macro.

6700 is ideal for growth ive heard. anything close to 6500K is. its just a really White light. the fixture is prob not very good for 50 bucks but i only need it for macro algae. ill post on the lighting board right now to see what they say.

Oh, it will grow macro just fine. I just wasn't sure that colour bulb would be pleasing to the eye.

Thanks for getting me to to try and get a picture of the dwarf for sex comparison. I snuck on HER when she just woke up so that her pectoral fins were still pinned to her side. She's always begging, so I never get to see her with her fins down. They've looked awful flowy lately and we thought she was a male. Well, we were right in the first place... it's a she. Most excellent.

Okay, one way to tell the males and females apart is by the length of the pectoral fin in relation to the caudal peduncle.

In a female it is shorter than the caudal peduncle area... if it is longer, it's a male.

This one is shorter... so it's a female.
