dwarf lionfish tank?

    I always stick a little piece of shrimp in there for a few days just to make sure there is no burp in ammonia. Then I change 50% of the water (for the nitrate). That's me and evidentially it's old school now I'm just finding out. I don't think many even do the 25% anymore.

    how much shrimp, do you think i will be ok how i am now? its been setup and cycling for 2 months so far. i think i should be fine, but if i need to do this i will.

    You gotta work on that nitrate a little more. Have you done any water changes?

    no im getting some more water tomorrow. then i can do a water change. its should be below 20 right? i am gonna let the mangroves take care of it till friday, then ill do a water change if needed.

    A good water change outta cover it. 20 is fine... they tolerate higher... but when they are eased into it. But if you keep up on maintenance, you shouldn't have a problem with your current stocking plan.

    ok, ill see what the lfs gets in and after a water change, i may have a dwarf lionfish after this weekend. woot!

    thanks so much renee for everything, really, youve been a HUGE help. not a lot of people on here have the dwarfs from what ive seen. its good to have a go to person for help. thanks

    i love my fuzzy dwarf. havent quite got him eating frozen yet.. but i was wondering what the best way to go about hunting for a female because my lfs doesnt carry fuzzy dwarfs. he says its way to hard to get healthy ones for him. i bought my fuzzy online in a divers section becuase i wanted a yellow one
