I wish. That's when I lived in the Texas. The weather may be perfect here in Cali, but the water is cold and there's no ghost shrimp. :-(

Roll with some guppies supported by a well fed ghostie.

heres a pic of the dwarf, and a pic of the fu manchu. Fu ate again but dwarf didnt. The ghost shrimp are bigger then his eye so idk if they are 2 big? And they feed him a few every day so maybe he just is not hungry?

All i know is i am not buying him unless i see him eat....well i may offer them half price because he wont eat! hahah

Yes, I would want to see him eat. Is he breathing hard? The picture captured his gill open pretty wide.

he seemed to breathe fine, he was active. when i moved my hand up to the glass he "got big" all his fins went up. And when she put shrimp in he followed them all around the tank, just never ate one. Does not seem like there is a dent in his stomach to make me think he has not been eating. I am guessing he is just being fed before i arrive and when they try to feed him again he is not hungry. But i have him on hold till friday so i will see how he looks then.

Tell the LFS not to feed the fish until Friday when you get there. It won't hurt the fish at all, and THEN if it doesn't go for a small ghostie, I'd consider leaving the fish until it eats. D. zebra tends to eat crustaceans in the wild, so it shouldn't be refusing live shrimp.

Also, feed the fish and stand well back from the tank...a new fish may not eat if it's being closely ogled.

I tried asking them to not feed but they said they feed every day. It was one of the girls, not the main guy matt that i usually deal with. Matt is amazing, will try calling their now and ask him to do that.

UPDATE! just called matt and he said no problem! they will not feed him until i come in friday, he goes "they know that they are not supposed to eat every day, but i will make sure to remind them, and we will hold off feeding until friday for you"

    i love my LFS

if anyone is around the albany ny area i highly recommend healthy pet center. AMAZING coral selection, and great fish!

as far as getting him to easy frozen goes, i can help. i have a volitan lion that i had to ween from live food to frozen krill and silver sides. the process i used was given to me by a friend who owns a lfs and gets Mandarins to eat mysis and cyclopeez.

step one: feed live mixed with frozen adding a couple of drops of garlic (i used the marine garlic concentrate formula by Kent) to the mix a few minutes before feeding. do this for a couple of days. he may ignore the frozen food at this stage, butt no worries. after 2 or 3 days go to step two.

step two: feed just the frozen but still add the garlic a few minutes before feeding. he should eat...though it may be reluctantly at first.after a few days of this, you can stop adding garlic.

step three: feed as normal with frozen food. :)

this worked for me. hope it helps.

well, i will deal with converting to frozen when the time comes. If he will not eat live, then i am not going to get him. So hopefully he will eat on friday!
