Looks like my Coral is dying. Picture #2 is a the piece I broke off. Thought it might help. What's going on? Started slow at the tip of one branch and then spread.

It doesn't look too bad. The best thing you can do for coral is make sure you have pristine water quality, stable temperature, ample light, etc.

The coral looks ok but if you start seeing drastic decline in health you might want to try moving it to a differnt level in the tank. (light acclimation issues)

What are your parameters? Are there any other corals close by that could be stinging it? Also it looks to be an alveopora species I think, so it might be worth looking into their requirements to make sure you're meeting them all. I know they are supposed to be easier than their relative goniopora but I'm not sure how much easier.

Sorry I don't have any specific experience with this coral to help, just check and doublecheck all your parameters first of all IMO, calcium, alkalinity, magnesium, salinity, temperature.

looks like a flower pot goniopora? if it is, they can be difficult to keep. a tempermental coral from what i understand. like said inanother thread. a contradiction coral in a sense. they prefer "dirty" water , which goes against the "clean" water we all strive to keep.

12 polyps per tentacle = alveopora. Not as difficult as goniopora but still needs to be target fed.
