Dyning Clownfish!!!! HELP

    ok well i have 3 per. clowns (tank raised. theve been in my tank for about a month no problems. over the past week one of the clowns has been hiding alot, will just sit at the bottom ove the tank in a corner, or hide up behind one of my power heads. he eats normally, but has lost a lot of color almost pale looking his fins look to be deteriating (sp). all my tank specs are perfect. any one have any ideas?

    Fins are deteriorating? Is he rubbing against rocks? My angel did the same thing when he/she got flukes. But you can usually see them.

    Pics?

    Or perhaps the other two clowns paired up and this one is just the loner now?

    nope not rubbing agnist anything. just seems to secluded himself from all the other fish, and his lack of color has me worried

    Are the other clowns picking on him? They may have paired up and started beating up on him. It doesn't always happen when you're around so you might not be seeing it.

    Just an idea.

    1+. Keeping three clowns can be a tricky thing unless the tank is huge. It does not always end well for the odd fish out.

    +1 to Kacy and Coraillines' posts. The odd man out is prob. stressed and getting beat up by the other clowns. Watch carefully, you may need to get it out and take to LFS if possible.

    +2 to both,clowns are damsels and can become aggesive.

    huh, never thought of that. just weird that theve been together raised in the same tank at the lfs, been together in my tank for a month and now this. i guess ill be bringing this lil guy to my lfs

    Clowns are not schooling or harem fish...so they don't do as well in groups. When they start maturing, they pair up and then can become quite territorial and aggressive.

    I think finding him a new home would be best.
