Hey all I am new to SW and reef keeping my tank has been up and running 2 months now. I decided to start my adventure in to keeping corals and I ordered and received today an eagle eye zoanthids polyps and a purple tip frogspawn. Let's just say that I didn't by WYSIWYG because these frags don't resemble what they will eventually be.

Since I know very little about corals I thought I turn to the experts. My parameters are within the normal for keeping corals, KH 10, Cal 450, mg 1450, PH 8.2. I would like to know is there a link on 3 reef that some one can refer me to regarding light aclimation something for dummies like me.LOL

Here is what I saw when I purchased these frags.

Can you guys take a look at these pics and let me know if these frags look ok as I don't know what to look for. The pictures are not the best but I think the video looks better.

    Thanks All

I'd like some more information, what kind of light are you running? What else is in the tank? What kind of filtration are you running?

The zoa's are a good choice as they are hardy and fast growing, the best advice I can give you about zoa's is get them in a spot where they are growing and leave them alone. My best colonies are the ones that I have done the least with. My eagle eye's like low light and moderate flow, I have mine on the sandbed and thew grow like weeds. I feed a mix of foods and do regular water changes.

The frogspawn will like a little more light and flow, once again hardy and fast growers. I have a hammer coral that has grown 5x since I bought it. Good luck!

They are still acclimating and may take a while for them to go to normal. The frogspawn looks a little worse for wear though to me. Hard to tell if they are what they said online... Need them to open up more and get a better pic ;)

I also subscribed to ya on youtube "hotchicky8" is me... I wanna see how your tank and corals in the long run.

give them a little time I am sure they will color up for you, the tank parems are going to be different no matter what, and they have been in amonia saturatedwater in the shipping bag. They get stresseda and overslime themselves

Ok I am running 3 sets of Truelumen Pro Led 48" strips. 1 12k, 453 Deepwater Blue and 1 Marine Fusion. I also have an R2 Solutions Moonlight. Pro's are on 12 on cycle, moonlight the same.

Fitration I have a 40 gallon sump with additonal live rock, carbon and gfo reactors, HOB refugium as well and I will be dosing two part when needed.

Current stock are two ocellaris clownfish and one royal gamma. Currently in my quarrantine take is fairy wrasse, yellow watchman goby and a tomini tang.

I really like the way the zoa's look as well as the frogspawn. I'm still undecided how my reef will ultimately be LPS, SPS, Softies, not sure yet.

So that's you ;) cool. I'll be sure to keep it updated as they progress. I agree the frogspawn didn't look all that hot to me. The bag that it shipped in had a lot of really yuky slime.
