eagle eye zoa question?

well i got s small colony of 30 polyps they were nice and brightly colored

after a couple days i noticed color was fading alittle bit how would i get it as

bright as they can get? i put trace supplements like coral excel, strontium and

mobilum once a week and after water changes i add sea balance witch is 2 bottles a,b:-/:-/:-/

 

Usually they like a pretty bright light but fading usually means they are getting too much.They could also just be adjusting to your system. Did you light acclimate them?(i.e. place them on the bottom for a few days then slowly raise them were you want them) I would suggest you stop dosing trace elements. It is not a good idea to dose things you can't test for because you can never tell how much you are adding. Trace elements are best replaced with water changes and should be sufficient to keep them at good levels.8)

 

ive placed them on the bottom from day one and still there ive had them for a bout a week

i have a metal hilide bulb 150 watt in an 28gallon nano cube i ll just keep my normal schedule of supplements

 

That is an awful lot of light for that tank. I am sure they are bleaching.
If changing the light is not an option for you I would try raising them.

 

well thats the light the system came with and the hood isnt om i had to mod it a little now the hood is supported by 4 legs so the hood is now like 7 or 8 inches from tank
