I'm already feeding into the grid with my wind and solar generators. I've earned my lights dangit!

    Cool idea though.

For sure. We've actually been looking into the solar. Our roof is perfect for it.

The labor pains and initial cost were scary, but we lucked out that there are several companies around here that compete with eachother. We're going to move next to solar water heating. My fav is my wind generator though.

We'll probably crack under our hippiness and power down for an hour though ;D

I'm turning everything up full bore. Might go let the suburban run in the driveway also for good measure

It's still really expensive here in GA. We'd do the labor and hook them up ourselves, so that would save costs. Got a good company to order them from if you DIY? Down here in GA there is NO wind in the summer...none..... we wish there would be though.

    That is so wrong

We went with REC Solar Power Company: A Solar Panel Company that uses Solar Panels to generate Solar Electricity for You since they were in the same small town we live in (they moved about 10 miles away now). They were very flexible in how much we wanted to do ourselves, but they made it clear that it's not their normal thing. They usually do the full install and such.

The solar panels all depends on where you live. Here, its very expensive, and the power company wont buy back, so they are pretty much not a viable option.

Really, wow, when I think of Nevada I think of sunshine, so that would lead me to believe it might be cheaper. We'll just have to wait till it gets out to the boonies and not just in big cities. heck we don't even have cable internet yet LOL dsl, just no cable
