    Hello,

I figured this belonged in general and not new members because not only am I new, my question is : are there any near by reefers? I live in Center, tx close to Nac, Carthage, etc.

I'm currently cycling my first reef tank and am awaiting the purchase of my quad t-5s and my skimmer soon after the cycle finishes.

I currently have a 55 gal high tech freshwater planted tank and a 75 gal mbuna tank.
This is my first saltwater tank although I've been researching the past year and finally made the plunge and built a in wall 40 breeder with a 20 gal sump hiding in the closet in the other room. I used a mag 7 return pump with my head pressure giving me around 375 gph and two power heads each rated for 450. I'm hoping to be able to grow whatever I throw in there but want to start with some shrooms. I'm also a member on fish lore , same name but I wanted to find a more reef based forum. So hi, I'm Max and that's a little about me.

Welcome to 3reef Max! Do you have any pictures of your setup? We love pics here ;)

There are quite a few Texans on here. We even have transplanted Texans in Wisconsin :)

Welcome, and the tank looks excellent! Very nice job. My only comment is that right now, you do not have enough flow for SPS, if that is what you want to keep eventually. But that should be adequate for now. What lighting do you have?

1275 gph isn't enough flow for sps? I assume the mag is giving me 375 although the directions state 425 at my height. At the moment I'm using dual t-5 NOs I had laying around until I order my quad t-5Ho fixture.

Welcome to 3reef! The tank looks really nice. I do agree that you will need more flow for SPS, though.

IMO, no. You want to be between 50-100X flow for SPS, while you are around 30X. Look into the Jebao WP-25s. One of those, plus maybe one of your existing should be plenty.

Looks like I won't dive into sps for a while. As this is my first saltwater, I really know for sure I like mushrooms. I have some pics of stuff I plan on purchasing from frommyreeftoyours, can I post the pics here and y'all tell me if they will work and if ill have to add supplements or do I need to post a link?
