Think overflow before you sump it up

Be sure to incorporate overflow before you settle on using a sump. Before you get your tank cycled now it a good time to drain it and drill holes!! I recommend this method.(standpipe) I am not a fan of external overflows. I guess I am upset at mine.

One of the biggest questions i have is about the input to the sump.

Should the end of the pipe be above the water, under water, at the bottom of the sump?

What tends to allow the best flow from the stand pipe into the sump?

Get a 20 gallon tank, drill one hole on the end, and use some acrylic as dividers.

    Similar to mine!

I did the above with a 20L glass. I went to a local auto glass place and they cut me some dividers to my specification. Worked well!

Glass aquariums can be picked up anywhere for cheap. Mine was only $20.00!
