Eating Crow and Overdriving T-5s

I am using the Sunlight Supply reflectors. Like I said only because I could not fit the IceCap SLR in my hood. I have been running the CoralVue CV-T5110 ballast since I started running T-5HO.

 

Now the creeps gets it. Iread you post and thought you had gotten the IC reflectors, DOH!!!

I though maybe the CV fixture was put together with Workhorse ballasts. You can actually overdrive T5's with workhorses too but nothing like what the Ice Cap does. How do you like how cool the ballast runs? A guy I know in the business actually had taken an Ice Cap ballast apart and he told me he couldn't figure out how they made any profits on the ballasts considering the components they use. Pretty good compliment for IC I thought.

 

As long as the bulbs don't fry too fast I will be happy but IceCap doesn't generally mislead there customers. IceCap needs to get more T-5 friendliy though. Like post specs for T-5HO driven on there ballast and develop real T-5 endcaps instead of of T-12 cap with a giant spacer. What good is a 5/8 wide bulb if you have to put it on a 2 1/2" standoff. I noticed a pick up already in my Acro and xenia growth. So I can what to get more Acro.
