    For 100 with softies? Why mess with a 400w? There are much better lighting guys on the board, but 2x250 should be more than enough and should support softies, clams and SPS. Heck, with PCs you can probably get away with 175s.

    Anyway, wait for the gurus to post up on watts. After all the coin I've dropped I've just become good at DIY and finding deals. But I keep getting better. :D

    the one bladerunner posted is the sm as mine except the guy sold me a much larger ballast than pictured. She does run a little hot, but the advantage of being able to run 175/250/400/1000 is nice. I've had one issue wich was my bulb got to hot and has a deformity (probably from finger oil on it when I put it in). I just ordered a replacement... we'll see how that goes.
