[IMG]I am looking at getting the Ecotech Marine VorTech Propeller Pump with Wireless Wave Driver Gen2. Does anyone have any experience with these? Pros vs cons? It is kinda expensive so if there are other options that others use please feel free to comment. The reason I am looking into it is to get rid of three Koralia PH's in tank currently to clean up the look. By doing this I (hopefully) should be able to help with heat transfer in the tank and also get some better flow.

    Heres a link

I just used the link for reference. I will buy it from my LFS. They have been very helpful when I have had problems with equipment and have swapped out for new equipment with no questions asked and I dont have to pay to send it back and wait for a return if I do have a problem.

I have heard from several reefers that they are really nice pumps. A couple local reefers have them in their tanks and swear by their performance.

IMO, the vortec's are the real deal. I have seen them in action and would love to have one myself. Really though, what do you want, 4 korlias or one vortec? They will really clean up the look.

    K+ for supporting your LFS!

I have one, no complaints. Really like it and works well. The different settings are nice too and you can adjust the flow to exactly what you want. If you want any specifics, just ask.

I have heard a couple people not happy with them for the amount of money they have spent. Dont get me wrong, vortechs are amazing pumps and look great to boot, but I would never drop that kind of cash for water movement with all the other options out there.

Thanks for the info. Looking to clean up my tank and get more control of the flow.

Thanks for the info. Would 1 be enough for a 120 or would I need 2 of them?

I just got one earlier this month. It allowed me to remove several pumps and it still gives superior flow to the entire tank. Overall i think it looks nicer too without a handful of powerheads in the tank too. In my opinion, as far as flow is concerned, they are worth every penny.

The only complaint i have is the motor is just a tiny bit loud for the price. It's noticeable if you listen for it, but not annoying.

I have the equivalent in the tunze's and find that although one works, I still have some spots in my 150 that I needed to have some flow to and will be adding a second one early next year. I checked out the vortechs vs. tunze last month and both were very comparable. My local lfs is a tunze dealer, so I went with that.
