I read through the thread also. It was very informative and it seemed to me that people either loved it or hated it. JMO. The whole reason of wanting to go with the vortech is to help clean up the inside of the tank. I know they are expensive but nothing in this hobby is really cheap. I personnely wouldnt buy a $40,000 mustang but I did spend that on my truck. I know I could get the same amount of flow by just adding more PH's but thats not really what im wanting to do. When I look into my tank I want to see life and not big chunks of plastic everywhere in there. I want it to look as natural as possible. I am a firm believer that if something is manmade it will eventually break and that it doesnt matter what you buy there is always a chance that it could be a lemon.

I personally don't know about the mp40 (except a few people on here were telling me to get one), but if you feel comfortable spending the money, then do it. It's yours! If it's a mistake, then you'll learn from it. If it works out perfectly, then you'll be happy! Like you said, with anything man made there are always some pieces that won't work quite right, but the majority are great.

Let us know what you decide. I think it would help the tank look really nice!

Yes I would buy it again. And understand this, I am only using it as a simple power head. Reef crest mode....random. Two on my 90g would be crazy. I At some point I will move to a 150g and have 2. So I am not even using the coolest functions of syncing two and making waves. I will build my own stand and make waves. Right now I'm freaked out about making waves on my stock stand. So for what it does and how it does it and all the features....ya, nothing really compares. There is no apples to apples competition out there.

Thanks for the info. One thing I have learned is that if most people would buy an expensive piece of equipment like this again that it is probably a good investment.
