Eclipse 12 g lighting upgrade

    The eclipse 12 g comes stock with a 9 w light, pretty much useless. So I upgraded it to a 96 w quad 50/50 pc. I added a splashgurad made out of 1/4" acrylic to protect the light. Had to cut the reflector a bit to get it to fit. I also added a moonlight which way off center and I will need to adjust. Here are some pics.

    Nice work! The color spectrum sure looks better as well.

    I love the rock layout too. That's cool.

    Were did you buy the upgraded lighting system for your aquarium?
    I would like to do teh same thing to my Eclipse 12 system but i have no idea were to buy the retrofit kits that would fit this system, you have any advice?

    What kind of ballast did you use for the light. Also, I was wondering how the 0.25" acrylic held up to the heat.
